Aczone Launches with Co-Host Kate Bosworth

Aczone Gel 7.5%, launched in New York City this past Friday, June 3.

Aczone is a once-a-day, FDA approved, topical gel, created by the pharmaceutical company Allegan. The new acne gel was launched in midtown, with actress/model/producer Kate Bosworth, acting as the spokesperson. The loft was filled with healthy food options, including Chia bowls, tea, green smoothies, and hors d’oeuvres, which all fell in line with the promotion of healthy skin and a balanced diet.

Ms. Bosworth arrived at the event in a stunning blush dress, with metallic gold heels accenting the entire piece. Once the presentation began, she talked about what she has been up to; filming in Montreal, spending time with her family, and even going to the gym before the launch that morning.

Kate shared her own struggle with acne, and went over her daily facial routine. She said, “In terms of my actual skin care, I cleansed my skin, used a light moisturizer, sunscreen – always sunscreen – and that’s really it. I’m pretty minimal in terms of what I use in the morning, though the things I use, I make sure that they’re effective for me. And then in the evening, again I’ll cleanse, and then I’ll apply the Aczone right after cleansing and right before moisturizer…and an eye cream, and that’s essentially it. Less is more. You want to find the things that are effective for you.”

Joshua Zeichner, NYC-based Dermatologist spoke about Aczone helping women in their 20s-30s. “It is not uncommon for women to develop acne for the first time as an adult, in their 20s or 30s.7 I always remind my patients that acne is not just an issue teenagers suffer with.  While there is no cure, it can be managed with the right treatment regimen.”

As with all medication, Aczone does have some possible side effects, so speak with your doctor before trying the product.
