It was a very good day indeed.

This past week in New York City the world turned upside down and America got a captivating taste of the beautiful country of Australia. The Australia On Tour event that took place downtown at The Mezzanine opened up a thrilling conversation about the travel industry opening up doors again widely in 2022.

Excitement took over the room during the lively event that served up delicious tastes and luxurious wines from the country as top executives from Tourism Australia, Tripadvisor, and Qantas held court during a panel. Sarah Glover and Jane Lopes’ tastes were indulged and included a Rain Forest Citrus Salad with sea salt and edible flowers served before Australian-inspired Organic Grass Fed Lamb Tagliata with Lemon Myrtle Chimichurri and Beet Root Vegetable Mashed. Divine regional wines showcased were a 2016 Merite Shiraz/Malbec and 2013 Henskens Rankin Brut Rose.

Each taste indulged the senses fully as attendees carefully listened to the guest speakers Chris Allison, Acting General Manager, Americas, Tourism Australia; John Simeone, Senior Vice President of International Sales, Qantas; Matt Cameron-Smith, CEO, Voyages Indigenous Tourism; and  Steven Paganelli, CDME, Director, Destinations, Hotels and OTAs, Tripadvisor.

Each tuned into the fact that there is no time better to visit each region of the country that is vast in miles as it is in opportunity to explore.

Situated at the foot of the beautiful George Gill Range, just 36 kilometres from Kings Canyon, Kings Creek Station is a truly unique 2,000 square kilometre slice of the real Australian desert. Set amongst majestic desert oaks, Kings Creek Station is a working cattle/camel station with facilities for camping or stay in safari cabin accommodation, both options designed so you can experience the outback.

As sweetly stated about the draw of Australia in the book “With Love From Aus” by contributor and actor Chris Hemsworth, “There is something about being far away, disconnected from the world and living in the elements that is incredibly refreshing.”

Considering that so many regulations have been lifted and the sun is shinning, there simply is no better time to visit the rich and beautiful land of Australia. From millennials to retirees, there is no perfect time than now to make the trip of a lifetime. Even if you have visited before, what this new season and time in history brings is superbly unique. If anything what we have learned these past few crazy years is that life is too short. Seize the moment and take a trip down under today.
