A Look At Some Of SNL’s Best Political Sketches

Seeing Tracy Morgan up and about was a sight for sore eyes as we’ve all awaited his return following his recovery. And his appearance as host of Saturday Night Live’s third episode of it’s 41st season gave us all reason to smile.

Not only were his sketches a huge hit, but we also had some more reasons to celebrate: the hilarious Democratic debate with Larry David and Morgan’s former 30 Rock co-star Alec Baldwin.

As we all know, SNL’s coverage of political events are some of their funniest sketches (and perhaps sometimes even persuading the voters one way or another), and there are more iconic ones than not. Besides this week’s show that also featured former 30 Rock costar Tina Fey, the debate was spot on, an account of how David treated Bernie Sanders.

But nonetheless, there have been even more hilarious and even more thought provoking sketches the show has made iconic, and here are some of our top picks.
Hilary Clinton and Sarah Palin (Fey and Amy Poehler) address the nation:

Bill Clinton Goes to McDonald’s after a jog (Phil Hartman)

Ronald Reagan The Mastermind (Phil Hartman)

Two in a Bush Talk (Dana Carvey, Will Ferrell)

And lastly, Al Gore at the West Wing (because Al Gore doesn’t mind making fun of himself with the cast of The West Wing)
