O’2nd Fall/Winter Collection 2016

The O’2nd show was a mashup of vintage inspiration and modern edge.

The inspiration behind their collection was the Victorian Era. That element was clear in the high necks, ruffles and delicate construction of the the blouses.

In contrast the collection also had a lot of sharp and modern shapes in the collection. The trousers were loose and cropped and the jumpsuit and a jacket had several cut outs. O’2nd’s director Minsoo Chung also utilized sequins creating pieces that could easily blend in to a girls going out wardrobe.

The modern inspiration stemmed from American artists Frank Stella’s artwork which frequently contain a black and white theme. This theme was only broken up in the collection by a few pieces with a blue and white pattern and other accents of fall like reds and greens.

Both the contemporary and victorian looks are sure to appeal to consumers, but the combination of the two in one presentation did not mesh well. The demure blouses and sleek pants were too far removed from the sequins mini dress and heavy parka.

As for beauty, the models donned effortlessly wavy hair and a very dewy complexion thanks to Aveda and Redken and Cutler. Come fall there may be some lingering desire for some summer in glowing and highlighted skin.
