Exclusive: Brea Grant, David Arquette and Christina Arquette discuss dark comedy ‘12 Hour Shift’ [Video]

12 Hour Shift is selected to have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Mandy (Angela Bettis) is a nurse who works with her cousin Regina (Chloe Farnworth) on a black-market organ-trading scheme. After Regina loses a kidney she was delivering to her boss (Mick Foley), both she and Mandy need to scramble and find a new one. Their situation gets even more complicated after Jefferson (David Arquette), a convicted murderer, is brought into their hospital, and Regina starts killing patients to get organs.

The film is a unique and engaging dark comedy, utilizing its off-set tone to generate laughs. Every actor in the film is committed to their roles, resulting in great comic timing and hilarious dialogue. Moreover, the direction of the film is excellent, as director Brea Grant knows how to use her cinematography to build mood and reflect her character’s emotional state.

The Knockturnal linked up with Brea Grant, David and Christina Arquette to learn more about the film. This is the second film Brea Grant directed, her previous film being Best Friends Forever. Christina Arquette is a producer on the film, while David Arquette acted as both an actor and producer. We discussed the film’s production, inspirations for the film, shooting in Arkansas, and overall experience making the film.
